Hi, I'm Hemanth Sabbella, a second-year PhD candidate at SCIS, Singapore Management University (SMU), advised by Prof. Archan Misra. I am also a visiting student at the Mens, Manus, and Machina (M3S) group under MIT's SMART Program.
My research focuses on neuromorphic computing and spiking neural networks, with an emphasis on temporal characteristics and energy efficiency for applications in robotics and ubiquitous systems.
I completed my undergraduate studies in Electronics and Communications Engineering from IIIT-Delhi . I then worked as a Senior Project Associate at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), where I worked on low-power sensing and embedded AI systems, followed by a role as a Research Engineer at SMU.
Outside research, I enjoy photography (featured in National Geographic, see @foto.obscura), reading non-fiction, and exploring diverse cuisines.
Passed PhD Qualifying Exam; officially a PhD candidate.
